Malaysian Junior Team's Journey

Introduction

The proposed Malaysian Junior Team for the World Endurance Junior Championship in September 17-19, 2019, in Pisa Toscana Italy.

Preparation for the Championship

We have embarked on a programme to upgrade the standard of endurance sports in Malaysia by preparing a team for the 2019 World Endurance Junior Championship in Italy.We have selected a few riders between the ages of 14- 20 years old to prepare for the qualification races in Malaysia and also overseas.in order to qualify all riders must finished 3 2star races (120km) and have done at least one race at a speed of 14 km/hr.Rider has to qualify one race on the same horse to be used in the WEC (combination of rider and horse).

We have managed to send our young riders team to Argenton and Juliangges in France last July 2019 in order to have the combination of horses and riders and have qualified to compete in the world endurance competition for juniors and young riders in San Rossore ,Pisa,Italy and have gloriously ranked 5th in the world among the participating 35 contries and 113 riders .

This is a world competition held every two years wherein the Federation Endurance International (FEI) will organize a championship for the world juniors and young riders which will be held this year in Italy.This event will be sponsored by world organisations such as Maydan system eventing and the organisers are Federazione Italiana Sport Equestrian, Coni Italia and Dubai Equestrian Club.

Having a collective 21 years of experience in endurance (since 1998) we hope to be able to produce a strong team to participate in this prestigious event.

With enough resources in horses, riders, tracks,coaches and trainers.and experienced organisers ( the organising committee) and the support of Equestrian Association of Malaysia we are confident that we can produce a competitive team finish in the top ten in this world event.And in the first qualifying competition our proposed team finished 3rd in the recent Raja Muda Cup in April 14 ,2019.held in Trengganu International Equestrian Park.

We have planned a few local and international races in order for our riders to qualify.Thus we need the support morally and financially from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and also the malaysian public.

We have formed a commited passionate committee of experienced qualified officials,coaches , trainers and riders to make this a successful venture.

Venue for training

As the riders are divided into two groups we have two centres for training i.e riders in Trengganu will train at TIEP and riders in Kuala Lumpur will conduct training in Benua Equestrian Stable (BEST) in UPM Serdang.
Riders will have a pre race group training wherever the race takes place.

Training program

The training program will be drawn by the appointed coach and trainers and riders will be trained in the respective venues. Prior to the race all riders must be grouped together for medical and fitness check ups and to be insured for medical insurance. In this group training all riders will be briefed on rules and regulations, strategies and etiquette.

Target and chances

With proper guidance coaching and set discipline we hooe the team can finish in the top ten of the world competition.

With the experience gained in organising this venture it is hope that all involved will be able to prepare and gear up and gear up for future work class endurance championships

We are confident that with proper training, scrutiny, guidance and choice of competitive horses we at BEST will be able to produce Malaysia's world class riders for the future of Endurance.
